Zinc oxide

We operate one of Eastern India's largest Zinc Oxide manufacturing plants with a capacity of 360 MT per month. Our products include standard grades and customer-specified formulations. Quality is our priority, upheld through Total Quality Management practices. Our operations meet ISO 9001-2015 standards and are REACH Compliance certified.

We produce the following grades of Zinc Oxide:

  • Rubber Grade / Paint Grade Also known as White Seal
  • Ceramic, Sanitary Ware Grade
  • Cosmetic Grade
  • Pharma Grade
  • Feed Grade Also known as Poultry Grade, Animal Grade
  • Active Grade

Manufacturing Process:

Zinc Oxide is a Non Ferrous Metallic Oxide produced by melting of Raw Zinc Ingots at 1000 (Approximate) Degree Celsius of all the different types of Zinc Oxide, we have been involved in the production of White Seal Zinc Oxide manufactured by the process called French Process or Indirect Process. In this process, the starting point is metallic Zinc, which may be the virgin, secondary (recovered), galvanizers waste or dross. The metal is volatilized from retorts at 1200 and the vapors are oxidized to finely divided Zinc Oxide. By means of differential setting, various grades of oxide can be separated and classified.

Shelton Industries adopts the French Production Process to manufacture high-grade zinc oxide powder. This method involves using special high-grade zinc ingots as the primary raw material. The process offers flexibility in controlling the purity, color, and physical properties of the final product.

The zinc oxide produced by the French (indirect) process has distinct advantages over material produced by other methods:

  • Consistently Fine Particle Sizes: The French process ensures that the zinc oxide particles are uniformly fine, enhancing the performance of the end product in various applications.
  • Consistently High Purity: This method guarantees high purity levels, typically ranging from 99% to 99.8%, which is crucial for applications requiring superior quality.
  • Consistently Good White Color: The zinc oxide produced through this process has a consistently good white color, making it suitable for use in applications where color is an important attribute.

The uniform particle size, purity, and color of Shelton Industries' zinc oxide enable users to apply standard formulations without needing to adjust for variations, which are common with materials produced by other processes. This consistency in quality and performance makes Shelton Industries' zinc oxide a preferred choice for various industrial applications.
